(Image: TripAdvisor)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When the Connecticut Huskies checked in to the Luxor Hotel &#038; Casino on Tuesday night, they were disgusted with the condition of the rooms, according to online reports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There was apparently dirt, \u201cvomit \u2026 and worse\u201d in the assigned hotel rooms at the Las Vegas Strip property this week, the Connecticut news site <em>CT Insider<\/em> reported.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The condition of the Luxor rooms was so graphic it was getting national media attention. But UConn officials weren\u2019t overly concerned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not something we want to make a big deal out of,\u201d UConn Athletic Director David Benedict told <em>CT Insider<\/em>. \u201cEverything worked out fine.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Getting_an_Upgrade\"><\/span>Getting an Upgrade<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>UConn officials contacted the NCAA about the conditions since they were responsible for the booking.\u00a0The NCAA quickly relocated the team to another hotel. It was described by OutKick, an online sports site, as a nearby \u201chigh-level\u201d hotel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Larry Brown Sports, an online sports site, identified the new hotel as Resorts World Las Vegas, 3.1 miles north of the Luxor on the Las Vegas Strip.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Luxor is known for its hotel towers and pyramid rooms with slanted windows. It\u2019s also one of eight Las Vegas Strip properties to still have an old-style buffet, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/bye-las-vegas-strip-buffets-hello-food-halls\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Buffet at Luxor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Casino.org<\/em> contacted MGM Resorts, which owns the Luxor, for a comment. No statement was released.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Looking_Ahead\"><\/span>Looking Ahead<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>UConn beat Arkansas 88-65 on Thursday night. (Arkansas\u2019 team reportedly stayed at the Vdara Hotel &#038; Spa and didn\u2019t need to relocate.) The over\/under for total points scored is 153.5, <em>CBS Sports<\/em> reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The winner of that game heads to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/ncaa-tournament-hold-skewed-lower-by-early-upsets\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Final Four<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/march-madness-alabama-houston-odds-sweet-16\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NCAA Tournament<\/a>. UConn has appeared in the Final Four five times previously.<\/p>\n<p>Uconn also plays in the Big East Conference, but many fans would like to see UConn move to a power conference, such as the ACC, B10, or possibly the B12.<\/p>\n<p>UConn has won four NCAA national championships in men\u2019s basketball. These include wins in 1999, 2004, and 2011 under the reign of former coach Jim Calhoun.
